Johannes Wildner to lead Jeunesse Orchestra Camp in St. Florian

Austrian conductor Johannes Wildner knows orchestras like few others, having gained considerable experience and repertoire knowledge in youth orchestras at a very young age. An accomplished violinist, he was a member of the Vienna Philharmonic for ten years before taking up the conductor’s baton and achieving international success with it in both the symphonic and opera domains. His ambition has always been to guide the younger generations towards classical music in general and the Viennese sound in particular. In 2025, he will hence conduct the annual Orchestra Camp St. Florian – a grand orchestral experience for thirteen- to twenty-year-olds. The programme of the final concerts will include Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1, Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, and works by Johann Strauss II, in celebration of the great composer’s 200th birthday.
