Concerts: Johannes Wildner with works by Brahms and Elgar in Maribor, and with Johann Strauss in Vienna

Over the course of the last few years, the Maribor symphony orchestra and Austrian conductor Johannes Wildner have collaborated ever more closely. As always, the programme’s kick-off is a work by a Slovene composer—this time, “Ilova gora” by Marjan Kozina. His work is followed by Brahms’s 2nd concerto for piano and orchestra in B flat major and Elgar’s „Variations on an Original Theme“ op. 36, better known as the „Enigma Variations“.

The traditional May concert of the Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra at the Wiener Musikverein also fell victim to the Coronavirus pandemic, but **Johannes Wildner** looks forward to returning to the orchestra’s rostrum on the occasion of Austria’s National Holiday on October 26th.
