Johannes Wildner offers contemporary Danish music in Sønderborg

The world première of horn concerto written by Jesper Koch for horn player Jeppe Solløs Rasmussen is the centrepiece of the programme that the Sønderjyllands Simfoniorkester, conducted by Johannes Wildner, will perform on June 2nd and 3rd as part of its endeavour to foster and promote new Danish music. The work is inspired by poetry written by Walt Whitman (1819–1892) and recounting his experiences as a medic during the American Civil War, linking it to the truly deplorable current events.
