Conducting a program that combines various epochs of Austrian music, Johannes Wildner with the South Danish Philharmonic Orchestra (Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester): The second violin concerto by HK Gruber, who celebrated his eighty-first birthday with a gala concert with the RSO Vienna at the Vienna Konzerthaus in April, and the violin concerto “Oskar” by Johannes Maria Staud — both dedicated to the evening’s soloist, Ernst Kovacic. This is followed by Schubert’s Great C Major Symphony.
After that, Johannes Wildner also heads to Mexico, where he will conduct Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony in the closing concert of the Festival de Mayo in Guadalajara — another concert that fell victim to the Corona pandemic in 2020.
