The Slovene National Theatre Symphony heads each and every programme with a contemporary work by a Slovene composer; on Oct. 7th, that will be Larisa Vrhunc’s “Hologramme for orchestra”. Conductor Johannes Wildner follows this with Elgar’s “Enigma Variations” and Brahms’s second concerto for piano.
On October 26th, Austria’s National Holiday, the traditional concert of the Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra is dedicated to the Strauss family and its contemporaries.
The very next day, Maestro Wildner conducts the long-awaited and oft-postponed concert of the Austrian-Korean Philharmonic; to everyone’s great regret, the event cannot be experienced live in the Mozart Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus and will be available via streaming only, due to Korea’s stricter infection control measures. The programme comprises works by Johann Maria Staud and Ludwig van Beethoven.
