With Verdi’s “Aida”, Johannes Wildner bids farewell to Oper Burg Gars

After ten years and nine successful opera productions — a tenth fell, like many, victim to measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic — Johannes Wildner says goodbye as the conductor and artistic director of Oper Burg Gars. In his final season, he conducts Verdi’s “Aida” in a production directed by Philip Harnoncourt. The performance on July 25th will be conducted by Swedish conductor Jon Svinghammar. Taiwanese soprano Li Keng makes her role debut as Aida, while Spanish tenor Oscar Marín returns to Gars as Radamès.
