Camille Saint-Saëns’s symphony for organ, among the greatest of Romantic organ works and preformed not nearly often enough, is the anchor of a concert series that Johannes Wildner and his Sønderjylland Symphony have scheduled for November.
Maestro Wildner then travels on to Germany for a series of performances with the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen as whose Musical Director he served from 1997 through 2007. The programme was selected by the orchestra’s subscribers and comprises works by Smetana, Beethoven, and Dvořák.
